Alyssa Humphreys was privileged to be born into a newly Christian family in May of 1996. She then attended Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN, for the first fourteen years of her life followed by Rutherford County Baptist Church in Smyrna, TN, for two years and Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville, TN, for the final two years of her high school career. She made a profession of faith at the age of five but did not truly understand salvation and accept Christ as her Saviour until the age of thirteen at Triple “S” Christian Ranch in Rose Bud, AR. From this background, she obtained experience with a plethora of Christian school types and curriculas as she attended a larger traditional Christian school, a smaller ACE school, and a few years of homeschool in the middle.

In 2014, she moved to Longview, TX, to attend Texas Independent Baptist Seminary and Schools under the leadership of her current pastor Bob Gray II. After graduating with her bachelor’s of religious education in 2019, majoring in secondary education and minoring in elementary education, she went on to graduate with her master’s degree specializing in curriculum development in 2020 and her doctor’s degree specializing in special education in 2022.

During her four years of graduate schooling, God allowed Miss Humphreys to obtain experience as a substitute teacher, an elementary teacher, a middle school teacher, and a high school teacher. Now, “Doctor H.” (as she’s affectionately known by her students) has begun traveling to assist Christian schools when she is not teaching in the college there in Longview, TX.

She plans someday to travel full-time assisting Christian schools and partnering with Independent Fundamental Baptist Churches to begin their own private Christian schools. She also plans to continue writing curricula to be used in Christian schools here and abroad.
